Jubilee
Action is a registered charity, which began
in 1992. It was developed from the effective
human rights lobby group Jubilee
Campaign, which itself was launched in parliament
by David Alton in 1987.
We
have achieved much in a few years. We always
aim not to duplicate others' work but to work
where little support exists and where our
resources can have the highest return. The
Working
Globally section gives a description of
the projects that we support around the world.
Historically, our work has concentrated on
the front-line tasks of defending and caring
for vulnerable children and families who are
at risk of abuse, intimidation or persecution.
More
recently, we have expanded our work to incorporate
the idea of Business
Partnerships to tackle endemic poverty.
We believe that this model will be powerfully
effective in breaking the legacy of inherited
poverty for entire communities.
Our
experience has also taught us of the importance
of educating and inspiring the public to get
involved in the struggle for justice. That
is why we launched our own human rights magazine,
Just
Right to do just that. With contributors
including award-winning writers, photographers
and film-makers, we have been delighted with
the impact of this publication.
We
believe in effective, life-giving partnerships.
However, in order to achieve change, we need
to forge partnerships with people prepared
to meet that need. That is why we are asking
people like you to become a Jubilee
Partner and help us make a real difference.
The
majority of Jubilee Action's income comes
from individual supporters. It is this loyal
and committed giving that has enabled us to
do so much. Please contact
us for a copy of our annual report.

registered charity number 1013587.
