The Jubilee Story
![]() Jubilee Action began in 1992. It was developed from the human rights political lobbying organisation Jubilee Campaign, in order to raise funds to help children at risk whilst fighting for their rights. |
Humble BeginningsFounded by Danny Smith and Lord Alton, the charity grew from very humble beginnings in the front room of Danny’s home. With no financial backing, no paid employees, no marketing strategies, the charity relied on the vision and determination of a handful of people united in their desire to help children at risk. |
Growing Up |
| We continue to go from strength to strength, taking on new projects in a number of countries around the world and collectively helping thousands of children out of abusive and traumatic situations. |
| We understand the importance of not only rescuing children but in providing them with everything they need to sustain themselves in the future. Education is a key area of our work – ensuring each child can create their own opportunities and take control of their own futures. |
Working Towards the FutureOur ultimate goal is to develop our project partners to become self-sufficient themselves and not reliant on international funds, allowing us to channel our efforts to other areas of greater need. |
| We believe that with enough support behind us, we can make a real difference in breaking the destructive cycles of poverty and abuse that so many children are cruelly subjected to around the world. |
